AVOCADO

AGUACATE
Avocado is a highly nutritious food, notable for its content of healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It primarily provides monounsaturated fats, which are beneficial for cardiovascular health, as well as fiber, which aids digestion and satiety. It is also rich in vitamins such as C, E, and several B vitamins, as well as minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and folate.

Several avocado varieties are grown in the Dominican Republic, among the most common being Semil 34, Hass, Pollock, Popenoe, Choquette, and Carla. There are also native varieties widely grown on the island. The Semil 34 variety is the main export and is harvested from October to January, while Hass, the most popular worldwide, is produced year-round.
